Funeral celebrancy

When someone dies, there is a lot to think about. A funeral celebrant helps make sense of it all.

A funeral celebrant is an independent person who works with families to create a service that reflects the life, values, and personality of the person who has died. Unlike religious services, there are no set rules or scripts. It is about telling their story, their way.

I work with you to plan and deliver a ceremony that feels right — whether it is formal, casual, simple, or a big celebration. I am here to guide you, offer ideas, and make sure your loved one is honoured with the care they deserve.

This is about creating a farewell that is meaningful, personal, and real.

What Types of Ceremonies Do I Offer?

  • Funeral Services
A personalised service with your person present. This can be held at a funeral home, cemetery, chapel, or any location you choose.

  • Memorials
Held after cremation or burial. A beautiful way to gather and celebrate, without time pressures.

  • Celebrations of Life
A more uplifting style of memorial, focused on joy and shared memories.

  • Scattering Ceremonies
For when you are ready to scatter ashes and want to mark the moment with meaning.

  • Naming Ceremonies (all ages)
For babies, gender affirmation, or anyone wanting to celebrate identity.

  • Living Wakes
A farewell gathering where the person being celebrated is still here, to share in the memories.

What to Expect

When you book me as your celebrant, this is what you can expect:

  • A complimentary "Getting to Know Me" catch-up — we can have a call, meet for coffee, or whatever feels right, to see if I am the right fit for you and your family.

  • Full planning and support in creating a meaningful ceremony.

  • Assistance drafting the service structure and flow.

  • Guidance on writing a eulogy — I will not write it for you, but I will help you bring it together.

  • Suggestions for readings, music, rituals, and ways to personalise the service.

  • Collaboration with your chosen funeral director, if you have one.

  • On the day, I will lead the ceremony and hold the space for you and your loved ones.

My approach is always practical, respectful, and down-to-earth. This is about telling your person’s story with care and making sure their farewell feels right for you.
